What are the 3 types of entertainment?

 

Live:

- A form of entertainment where the sender delivers ideas and messages in a pleasurable way to the audience while in person. 

- The audience expects to enjoy the content live, in the present moment.

- Some examples include standup comedy, concerts, ceremonies, fashion shows, circuses, parties, and more!

Exhibit

- A form of entertainment that expresses one's idea in a satisfying way through the art of public display.

- The audience expects to view and/or experience the public display with the intention of having fun!

- Some examples include amusement parks, fairs, festivals, traveling, museums, zoos, parks, and more!

Mass Media:

- A form of entertainment that focuses on informing the audience in a fun way through the art of mass media outlets.  

- The audience expects to gain information in a fun way that is pleasing to their attention span. 

- Some examples include plays, sports, movies, radio, animations, music videos, news channel, and more!

Print:

- A process for mass production that involves reproducing text and images through the product of paper.

- The type of outlets that fall into print are newspapers, magazines, books, articles, flyers, posters, billboards, direct mail, text messages, and more!

Audio:

- The use of devices that verbally record one's voice in order to be played later to the target audience of one's ideas and thoughts.

- The type of outlets that fall into audio are radio, music, podcast, speaker, headphones, and more.

Visual:

- The use of devices that visually and verbally record one's ideas and messages.

- The types of outlets that fall into visual photos, videos, documentaries, movies, tv shows, skits, music videos, news, facetime, and more! 

What are some tips to get better at entertaining people?

 

- Practicing awareness of the why?  the why behind why you want to deliver entertainment in the first place.

- Try to create a comfortable atmosphere for the audience.

​

- Pay attention to the environment and the way the audience is flowing with you. 

​

- Try and figure out the common goal behind every time you entertain, this will allow you to figure out what kind of theme your entertainment fits under.

- Do not worry about trying to target your audience, just have fun and people who like something about you will naturally attract to you!

- Be empathetic to your audience, do not dismiss them by not interacting with them.

What are some signs of a person with good entertainment skills?

 

- You are aware of the effects your entertainment leaves on people!

- You're aware of the type of thoughts and feelings your content evokes in an audience.

​

- You're aware of how other people's entertainment affects you!

​

- You can tell the difference between downplaying opinions and constructive criticism.

What type of entertainment would work best for me?

 

In the moment:

- If you want to be in the moment as possible, live entertainment is your best route.

- This allows one to express them self while also achieving that want of seeing the audience's reaction in person.

- This allows the audience visually see your ideas and messages in a pleasing way through a nonliving display of something. 

- One has a choice to be there in person or not.

- Forms of entertainment that fall into the public display category are museums, amusement parks, fairs, festivals, and more!

A big audience:

- This allows one to express ideas in a satisfying way through a medium that allows them to reach a lot of people.

- This is for people who want to deliver entertainment to a large crowd and wouldn't mind their entertainment being here for the long run through some sort of media outlet.

- Some examples of entertaining a big audience include movies, plays, sports, animations, news, games, and more!
